Position SummaryThe Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) is a field‑based lead responsible for educating, assisting, and resolving issues with healthcare providers (HCPs) and their staff regarding patient access to Janssen Immunology therapies. The role spends up to 50% of its time on site with HCPs, assessing their education needs, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
A Day in the LifeEvery patient’s healthcare journey is unique. The FRM helps navigate education, reimbursement, and access challenges, ensuring patients can start and stay on the right treatment in a personalized, supportive environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Educate HCPs on product coverage, prior authorizations and appeals, reimbursement processes, claims submissions, procedures, and coding requirements of payer organizations for core and launch products.
- Collaborate with field support team members such as sales representatives and key account managers and serve as reimbursement expert for the local team.
- Act with urgency to address critical access and affordability issues for patients.
- Partner with managed care colleagues to understand current policies and anticipate future changes.
- Conduct field‑based reimbursement and access support, education, and creative problem‑solving aligned to FRM Rules of Engagement.
- Build strong, trust‑based relationships with customers in all assigned Immunology accounts.
- Manage territory logistics, routing, and account business planning.
- Maintain and grow knowledge of market dynamics, coverage, and coding requirements at national, regional, local, and account levels.
- Expand understanding of hub and specialty distribution channels to improve patient support needs.
- Collaborate with internal J&J departments such as marketing, sales, medical science, SCG, IBG, HCC, and PECS; serve as subject matter expert regarding education and insights on access and affordability solutions across payer types (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial).
- Execute the role in accordance with the highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards, including timely completion of all required training.
- Extensive knowledge of medication access channels, including pharmacy and medical benefits, buy‑and‑bill, and assignment of benefit across multiple sites of care.
- Stay current on changes in product coverage, access knowledge, marketplace conditions, and stakeholder practices to deliver effective solutions.
- Understands and adapts to the evolving healthcare ecosystem to customize resources and messaging to HCPs and their staff.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in healthcare or business/public administration); advanced degree (MBA, MPH) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Account Management and/or Reimbursement experience in hospital and/or provider office settings.
- Demonstrated expertise with pharmacy and medical/buy‑and‑bill benefits, coding, and billing.
- Reimbursement or managed care experience (revenue cycle, buy‑and‑bill, prior authorization, coding, appeals).
- Ability to establish relationships, collaborate, and influence across a matrix organization.
- Problem‑solving skills to navigate challenging access scenarios and identify timely solutions.
- Experience with patient support HUB services.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
