HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Demonstrate the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive employee, business, and organizational information. Build trust through impartial decision-making, safeguard confidential information in accordance with Company policy and applicable laws, and serve as a credible, objective Human Resources partner who consistently models Bold Age's Core Values in all interactions and decisions.
- Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop and execute people strategies that support employee engagement, retention, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Serve as the onsite HR point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures while escalating complex matters to the national HR team and HR leadership.
- Support recruiting activities in partnership with the recruiting team, including , coordinating interview schedules with hiring managers, facilitating candidate center visits, and assisting with local candidate communications.
- Prepare and distribute new hire packets, conduct onboarding sessions, and ensure compliance with California-specific new hire notices, I-9 verification, and timely completion of all new hire documents.
- Partner with managers and the national HR team to facilitate a smooth new hire orientation and first-day experience.
- Coordinate employee equipment needs, including issuing laptops, s, access cards, uniforms, or phones(if applicable), ensuring proper documentation, return, and tracking in partnership with IT and Facilities.
- Maintain HR records and personnel files in compliance with the applicable state laws (i.e., CA Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and organizational standards.
- Support employee status changes in HRIS system, transfers, and terminations, ensuring timely processing of paperwork and final pay requirements under California law. Ensure required approval has been obtained prior to processing.
- Assist with tracking and coordination of employee leaves of absence, including CFRA, PDL, Paid Sick Leave, and Pregnancy Disability Leave, in collaboration with the national HR team.
- Research, monitor, and remain current on federal, state, and local employment law changes related to pay, benefits, leave, and wage and hour compliance, ensuring organizational policies and practices remain compliant.
- Provide onsite support for compliance with state labor laws, including rest/meal breaks, overtime rules, required postings, and workplace safety requirements.
- Coordinate local logistics for required state trainings, such as Anti-Harrassment, Code of Conduct and Workplace Violence, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure final pay is processed in accordance with the employee's termination type and applicable state-specific requirements to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local wage payment laws.
- Partner with payroll and the center leadership team to ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime compliance.
- Assist with local employee relations matters by documenting concerns, gathering information, and escalating to the national HR team for resolution.
- Support HR projects and initiatives rolled out by the centralized HR team, including open enrollment, performance reviews, and policy updates.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
