Freelance Spanish Language Interpreters - In-Person/Onsite

911 Interpreters is seeking to engage services of experienced Spanish Language Interpreters for in-person/Onsite services in Fresno California.

Not a language interpreter but interested in becoming one?

Requirements
  • Medical Interpreter Certificate is preferred
  • Medical/Legal/Educational interpretation experience
  • HIPAA certification preferred
  • Post-secondary education
Responsibilities
  • Use your language skills to enable communication
  • Support people in your community in their communication needs
  • Interpret accurately and impartially everything said by the parties involved
  • Appointments take place in healthcare, community support, and education settings, among others
  • Excel in language skills by mastering your working languages and terminology
Skills
  • an excellent command of the English language
  • a good memory and the ability to learn fast
  • ability to closely follow client's instructions
  • skills to interact well with people and work as part of a team
  • ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality on the matters you are interpreting

  • assimilating words quickly, including jargon and acronyms
  • building up specialized vocabulary banks
  • use of the Internet to conduct research and prepare glossaries before the assignment
