Overview of the Position The court has nominated Frank J. Singer to fill a U.S. Magistrate Judge position in our Fresno, California courthouse. Incoming Magistrate Judge Singer’s appointment has been confirmed and he will enter on duty on March 23, 2026.Incoming Magistrate Judge Singer is seeking applicants for a term law clerk position. The incumbent would support Incoming Magistrate Judge Singer by conducting extensive research and writing on a wide range of matters arising in federal litigation.
The incumbent also would assist with managing the judge’s caseload and preparing for case-related hearings, conferences, and trials.
An initial one-year term of appointment is preferred. The term may be extended for up to three additional years by mutual agreement.
Applicants must be available for a start date of employment between April 1, 2026 and Sept. 1, 2026. The selected applicant will be expected to perform work in our Fresno courthouse, and occasional, limited telework may be authorized by Incoming Magistrate Judge Singer.
