Job Summary

We are seeking a Logistics Clerk for a direct hire opportunity in Fresno, CA. This role is ideal for a transportation operations professional with strong phone skills, solid computer abilities, and experience working with carriers, customers, dispatch activity, and load documentation.

The Logistics Clerk will support daily operations by sourcing and qualifying carriers, entering and dispatching loads, tracking shipments, preparing required documents, and helping maintain strong carrier relationships. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative operations team where organization, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail are valued.

• Source, locate, and qualify new carriers to support transportation and logistics operations.
• Make outbound calls to carriers and customers to coordinate shipments, gather updates, and support daily operational needs.
• Enter loads, dispatch carriers, provide shipment instructions, and prepare required documents in company software.
• Verify carrier information, support load tracking and tracing, and communicate shipment status with internal team members.
• Build and maintain positive carrier relationships while supporting rate discussions and negotiation activity.
• Work closely with the operations team to manage daily tasks, solve issues, and keep freight moving efficiently.

• Pay: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.

• Source and qualify carriers for transportation operations.
• Enter, verify, and dispatch loads while providing clear instructions to carriers.
• Prepare transportation documents in software and support track and trace activity.
• Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal team members to support daily logistics operations.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred based on role level.
• Experience in the transportation industry is required.
• Strong computer data entry skills and Microsoft knowledge are required.
• Ability to learn and understand transportation industry rates.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. geography.
• Excellent phone communication skills and confidence making cold calls to carriers and customers.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational details at once.
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop productive carrier relationships.
• Strong memory, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work in a fast-paced operations environment.

• Previous experience in carrier sourcing, freight brokerage, dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
• Familiarity with load boards, carrier qualification processes, shipment documentation, or logistics software.
• Prior experience supporting track and trace functions in a transportation or freight environment.
