Overview
In accordance with Fresno County Personnel Rule 4310.4, the County of Fresno invites applications for the position of Deputy Director of General Services. Incumbents provide executive leadership over major operational and administrative functions of the Department, working collaboratively as part of the administrative leadership team to support policy development, program implementation, and the achievement of departmental goals within applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Assignments span distinct functional areas and support the delivery of efficient, reliable, and cost-effective services to County departments.
Depending on assignment, responsibilities may include oversight of Facility Services, Fleet Services and Business Services, encompassing the planning, purchasing, maintenance, and repair of County facilities, vehicles, and equipment, including asset management and janitorial services; or operational responsibility for the Business Office, Purchasing, and Security Services divisions, including fiscal administration, competitive procurement and contract management, surplus sales, security and parking programs.

Possession of a bachelor’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system. - Experience
:
Three (3) years of full-time, paid management work experience which included responsibility for developing, implementing, and evaluating budgets, organizational structures, and administrative policies, as well as the supervision of professional staff. OR three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to a division manager with the County of Fresno General Services Department, which included the supervision of staff. - Substitution

Possession of a master’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. - License
