The Regional Director – Region 3 serves as the senior strategic leader for all field, representational, political, and organizing operations within the region. This executive‑level role is accountable for driving regional performance aligned with SEIU Local 2015’s statewide mission, political strategy, and long‑term growth objectives. The Regional Director leads multi‑functional teams—including Internal Organizers and representational staff—to design and execute high‑impact regional strategies that increase membership engagement, leadership development, contract standards, and political influence.
As a member of the senior leadership body, the Regional Director contributes to enterprise‑wide strategy, organizational innovation, and operational excellence across the union. This position reports to the Statewide Field Director and works in close partnership with the assigned Executive Vice President.
- Develop and execute comprehensive regional strategic plans aligned with statewide organizational priorities.
- Translate union‑wide objectives into measurable regional outcomes across organizing, political, and representational work.
- Drive membership growth, activation, and leadership pipelines within the region.
- Ensure integration of organizing, bargaining, political, and community strategies to maximize impact.
- Lead the development of high‑impact, action‑based campaigns that:
- Increase worker participation
- Strengthen bargaining power
- Advance industry standards
- Expand union density
- Identify and cultivate organizing opportunities in both represented and unrepresented facilities in partnership with the Organizing Director.
- Establish campaign performance standards, evaluation frameworks, and outcome metrics.
- Oversee regional campaign analytics, tracking, and reporting systems.
- Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, grievance handling, and arbitration within the region.
- Serve as chief negotiator or spokesperson in collective bargaining where assigned.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to develop bargaining strategies that elevate wages, benefits, and working conditions.
- Ensure legal compliance with applicable labor laws including NLRA, FLSA, PERA, and related statutes.
- Provide expert testimony before public agencies as needed.
- Provide regional leadership in political campaigns, electoral programs, and public policy advocacy.
- Build strategic relationships with elected officials, labor coalitions, community partners, and media.
- Align regional political strategy with statewide legislative and electoral goals.
- Serve as spokesperson on behalf of the Executive Vice President when requested.
- Lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams of organizers and representational staff.
- Establish performance expectations, accountability systems, and leadership development pathways.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and disciplined execution.
- Manage performance, conduct evaluations, and administer corrective action when necessary.
- Develop regional leadership succession planning strategies.
- Develop and manage regional budgets aligned with strategic priorities.
