General PurposeUnder general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of an employment services program in an assigned department or a categorically funded program; evaluates and oversees delivery of job placement services; researches and resolves issues between students and employers; performs advanced program/grant management support including preparing and analyzing statistical data and program metrics; with the program director, oversees department/ program compliance with federal, state and District codes, rules and regulations;
and performs related duties as assigned.

- Provides input in selecting, training and providing day-to-day lead work guidance and direction to department staff; assigns, schedules and monitors work for completeness, accuracy and conformance with District, department and legal/regulatory requirements and standards; monitors workflow to ensure mandated deadlines are being met in an optimal manner; provides information, instruction and training on work procedures and technical, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provides input to supervisor on employee work performance and behaviors; assists in ensuring a fair, open and inclusive work environment in accordance with the District's mission, goals and values.
- Plans and implements the operation and service delivery of an Employment Center or a specific categorically funded job development program; coordinates and participates in the evaluation of individual student employment readiness and job research; develops and conducts job development workshops and seminars; ensures availability of job search resources including access to computers and counselors.
- Plans, manages and implements a comprehensive internship and job placement program; acts as a liaison with local employers, government agencies and community groups in order to build partnerships and create job opportunities for students and funding opportunities; represents the college or District in regional employment and outreach programs; maintains the Jobs website.
- Researches and resolves student complaints and employer issues; coordinates with employers to find them qualified applicants and ensures student positions meet District minimum requirements.
- Performs a variety of duties including needs assessment research to determine student and employer needs and best practices; conducts studies and complex data analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of current programs; makes recommendations on program enhancements/service areas; assists in assessing student area outcomes in applicable programs; coordinates and assists in minimizing impacts of overlapping programs and services.
- Contributes to the development of and monitors performance against the annual department budget; approves purchases and other expenditures in accordance with District policies and procedures; calculates budget usage and fund percentages; prepares budget variance reports and spending forecasts for management review; tracks multiple funding sources; participates in grant administration functions including basic grant writing, collecting program data and generating performance reports.
- Interprets, applies and ensures compliance with applicable program policies, procedures and guidelines; remains current on applicable legislative decisions and developments; ensures accuracy and validity of program tracking and data; develops, maintains and audits spreadsheets, databases and reports.
- Coordinates logistics of major events including liaison with event participants, vendors and sponsors; works with other campus departments and facilities; orders food, materials and supplies; performs onsite troubleshooting, proactively resolving issues.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of historically minoritized groups and participates in professional development activities to increase cultural competency to enhance equity-minded practices within the District.
- Oversees program marketing including preparation and production of promotional materials, invitations and publications and maintenance of department or program website and social media accounts.
- Represents the department on a variety of committees and task forces.
- Represents the District and participates in state and national program training and development and professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the program and grant area.
