Company Overview
Our client is an Italian manufacturer of irrigation systems with over 40 years of experience designing, manufacturing, and distributing innovative, high-quality products engineered to maximize water efficiency and support sustainable growth.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Quality Manager to lead and develop the Quality function within the manufacturing facility.
This role is not about fixing problems alone, but about building structured quality processes, guiding teams, and enabling departments to prevent, identify, and manage issues effectively.
The Quality Manager will own the evolution of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensure compliance with internal and external standards, and act as a cross-functional leader, partnering with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Management.
A strong understanding of industrial transformation processes (raw materials → finished product) is mandatory, together with proven leadership skills to manage people, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop, document, and standardize quality processes, procedures, and reporting structures.
- Guide departments in identifying risks, preventing non-conformities, and managing issues through structured processes rather than ad-hoc solutions.
- Ensure product compliance with regulatory, legal, safety, and customer requirements.
- Support and further develop quality-related systems and tools (e.g., SCADA, Microsoft Suites, Core, Prod View, PICK – training provided if needed).
- Lead the Materials Review Board (MRB) process and manage non-conformities, claims, and recalls.
- Analyze quality data and KPIs, producing clear reports for leadership and management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process stability.
- Train, coach, and motivate quality and production teams to embed a quality-driven mindset across the organization.
- Collaborate with quality teams across divisions and with international stakeholders.
Technical Requirements & Must-Haves
- Industrial Transformation Experience (Mandatory):
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments where raw materials are transformed into finished products.
- Preferred: Plastics (extrusion) or Food processing or other regulated, complex manufacturing environments.
- Quality Systems:
- Strong hands-on experience with ISO 9001. Exposure to or interest in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus.
- Leadership Orientation:
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and departments through processes, not by personally solving every issue.
- Systems & Tools:
- Familiarity with industrial systems (SCADA / PLC / industrial IT environments) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Core Competencies
- Strong process thinking and structured problem framing
- Leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Clear, effective communication with shop-floor teams and executive leadership
- Continuous improvement mindset and proactive risk prevention
Supervisory Responsibility
This position includes direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, fumes, and moving parts.
The role may require standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting items over 60 lbs.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected.
Work Authorization
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
