Position Overview
The Loader will be responsible for the timely and accurate product load onto delivery trucks by hand and using material moving equipment in a manner to minimize breakage of product in transit.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Identifies ownership, sorts, and palletizes assets by size and product for efficient refilling and handling
- Performs visual and physical tests on cylinders and packs. Hammer and odor tests empty cylinders as required
- Loads cylinders on appropriate route/truck in accordance with Roadnet reporting
- Report quantities loaded and discrepancies from schedules to supervisors
- Operation of powered industrial equipment
- Operation of forklift and electric pallet jacks
- Understands cylinder markings and ensures proper labeling of all cylinders
- Understands and follows proper spills / emergency cleanup procedures
- Support waste reduction and recycling programs
- Direct interface with will‑call customers
- Works safely, follows and meets the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as established by State and Federal laws and by West Air
- Reports any issues that impact safety, operations, the environment, regulatory compliance or customer satisfaction to Plant Manager
- Use required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and cylinder handling equipment
- Fills low‑pressure gases (propane) as needed
- Maintain a clean work area
- High school diploma or GED required
- Forklift Certified
- Dedicated to Customer Service, safety, quality and accuracy
- Gas industry and cylinder maintenance background and knowledge preferred
- Able to handle up to 70 lbs on occasion
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Must have initiative and be self‑motivated
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be organized and able to multitask
- Computer skills such as Outlook and Explorer preferred
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and stand on his or her feet for long periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
TravelNo travel is expected for this position.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time, non‑exempt, and on‑site position. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required, but not guaranteed. May be required to work occasional overnight or weekends, as needed.

The compensation range reflects West Air’s good‑faith estimate for the base compensation expected at the time of posting. Compensation offered will be determined by the job‑related factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, education, and geographic location.
