Material Handler
Requirements
We are currently in search of an experienced Material Handler to assist with the storage, control and distribution of materials according to company needs. The primary objective of the Material Handler is to implement efficient receiving, warehouse, material handling, inventory, and shipping solutions to support the overall manufacturing operation while optimizing space and improving labor productivity.
To excel in this role, you should have excellent attention to detail, be able to multitask, have strong knowledge, skills, and get along well with others. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring adequate levels of material and evaluating inventory needs. This position also conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems and develop and implement inventory control procedures.
This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Perform cycle counts, investigate variances, and report inventory inaccuracies
- Assist in problem-solving when inventory discrepancies occur
- Follow EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) guidelines to minimize inventory costs
- Participate in organizing shelving and product, and ensure labels are in place
- Ensures such policies and procedures as designated for warehousing are followed safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Perform any other duties as assigned. Must have reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities without jeopardizing project schedule
- Strong self-management and goal-setting skills
- Possess impeccable attention to detail; excellent organizational skills required
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Warehouse experience
- Raw material handling
- Experience with moving parts and heavy lifting
- Operating standing and sitting forklifts
- MRP system
- Experience in various manufacturing processes and techniques desired
- Inventory Control Experience
- Counting parts
- Investigating part transfer
- Fast-paced environment with others relying on the completion of tasks
- Standing/walking often - throughout the facility
- Office environment with AC. Shop environment is without AC and can be hot; fans are available in some areas of the building
- Dress code is casual: closed-toed safety boots required, no tank tops, shorts to the knee ok
- Non-exempt position; pay range: $17.00/hour - $19.00/hour
- Final compensation will be determined and based on experience
- This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law
