• Under the direct supervision of the Pre‑Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse implements all physician orders, provides continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, continually evaluates the patient’s condition, and ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The nurse also assists physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and the use of sterile technique as appropriate.
• Provides comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the patient and family to prepare for discharge.

Hourly Range: $46 to $66

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Currently licensed in the state of California
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or ICU

• Good communication and human relations skills
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative
• Ability to master new skills
• Thorough knowledge of all phases of the perioperative process, including surgical procedures and anesthesia implications
• Current nursing assessment and patient care skills
• Telemetry experience necessary

• Critical Care or PACU experience preferred
• Work environment: outpatient surgery
• Physical demands: computer use, use of telephone, light lifting up to 50 lbs, intermittent physical mobility, standing, sitting
