Job TitleFull‑Time Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Psychiatric Technician
Division / ProgramFresno Psychiatric Health Facility (Fresno PHF)
CompensationUSD 32.00–34.00 per hour
Location & ShiftFresno, CA – Midshift: 10:30AM to 11:00PM, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
What You’ll Do- Visually and audibly observe, document in writing, and report orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the registered nurse in charge and the attending physician.
- Order, prepare, administer, and document medication administration for clients according to physician’s orders.
- Confirm delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on each shift worked.
- Attend and participate in morning rounds, change‑of‑shift meetings, and treatment team meetings as scheduled on the assignment sheet.
- Make written or oral shift assignments and plans, organize, and direct nursing activities of the unit, ensuring quality care delivery.
- Provide other nursing duties, including first aid and medical intervention within scope of licensure as necessary for each client.
- Support admission processes to keep PHF beds full, reviewing admission packets, securing approvals, scheduling admissions, and completing all required verifications and forms upon arrival.
- Supervise BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals where applicable.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET, etc.) required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing, an accredited psychiatric technology program, or an associate’s degree in nursing or social sciences preferred.
- One year nursing experience required, preferably treating mentally ill patients in an inpatient setting. Clinical nursing school rotations may substitute for work experience.
- One year medication administration experience preferred.
- Valid California LVN or LPT license required.
- Valid CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Valid Pro Act certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Supervision credentials for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals where applicable.
