Surgical RN

Regional Hand Center is growing! This is an exciting time to join our team as an OR RN, in a Full Time 10‑hr Shift (no weekends) opportunity. Our beautiful, well‑established, state‑of‑the‑art surgery center and clinical practice in North Fresno, CA provides a supportive team environment focused on clinical excellence and patients first. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills caring for patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, while working alongside our talented hand surgeons and PA's.

Here are the essential qualifications:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in California.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Within ninety (90) days of beginning a job in an Ambulatory Surgery Unit, the employee will obtain ACLS certification.
• BLS required.

• A minimum of one (1) year of OR experience.
• One (1) year of previous ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.

• Demonstrate appropriate assessment skills for an identified patient population.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills by gathering and analyzing patient information, then intervene appropriately.
• Ability to work with technical equipment such as video systems, monitors, and basic computer skills.
• Good hand/eye coordination especially in the operating room.
• Identify patient and family education needs; develop and implement an appropriate teaching plan.
• Collaborate with medical staff and health care team by participating in organizational quality and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
• Identify customer service needs and meet or exceed expectations. Create an environment that promotes customer satisfaction and the patient experience.
• Respectfully communicate both written and verbal information that is accurate, timely, concise, and thorough. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians.
• Efficiently organize and prioritize individual workload around patient and unit needs. Adjust activities and plans depending on situation. Seek to improve personal organizational skills to increase work efficiencies.
• Steward available resources effectively.
• Demonstrate professional behaviors and identify own education and professional growth needs.
• Maintain the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees and visitors to Regional Hand Center of Central California.
• Behave in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Regional Hand Center of Central California. Adhere to established performance standards.
• Assume responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, patients and families. Use all available safety equipment. Report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices including near misses and actual errors to management.

• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age‑specific needs as demonstrated by successful completion of introductory orientation behaviors for Registered Nurse.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of the job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Ability to walk and stand continuously at least 90% of the time.
• Ability to move, lift and position patients.

Salary: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
