Specialty Nurse Navigator

Responsibilities

• Serves as a patient advocate.
• Assists as a facilitator for collaboration with multidisciplinary health team members.
• Focuses on patient satisfaction, including timely testing and treatments.
• Maintains current knowledge and skills specializing in oncology.
• Facilitates access to care by educating and assisting patients in securing future appointments and communicating medical test results.
• Maintains a communication system that ensures comprehensive and timely transmission of information to physicians, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Participates in continuous process improvement efforts to improve patient outcomes, ensures appropriate utilization of resources, and supports efforts to improve patient satisfaction.
• Respects the rights and personal dignity of patients and recognizes each patient is an individual with unique health‑care needs.
• Reviews, maintains, and follows up daily on the work queue.

• Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• 1–2 years of navigator experience, highly preferred.
• Oncology experience, highly preferred.
• Oncology certification within one year of hire, preferred.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates teaching and clinical abilities.
• Demonstrates advanced practice expertise in the specialty area.
• Demonstrates nursing leadership and the ability to expand the nursing knowledge base through support and development of nursing research.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Anticipated hourly range: $23.00 – $35.03 per hour (bonus eligible:
No). The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay is determined by multiple factors including geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
