Job Description
We are Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. We operate plasma donation centers and look for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support operations. This role reports to the Plasma Center Manager.
About the roleThis Medical Support Specialist will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The specialist works under guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with plasma collection regulations and a manufacturing environment is required. The specialist follows Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance and provides center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Howyou will contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needing to provide unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health/ER.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate level of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly Wage Range: $38.72 - $53.24
The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and education, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
