Quality Control Technician

Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality, food safety, and regulatory standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs routine inspections, testing, documentation, and monitoring activities to support compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Quality Testing
- Perform routine analytical, physical, and sensory evaluations of incoming materials, work-in-process products, and finished goods.
- Conduct sampling and testing procedures according to established quality standards and specifications.
- Food Safety Monitoring
- Perform environmental monitoring activities and verify sanitation effectiveness.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
- Monitor and verify critical quality and safety checkpoints throughout production.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate production records, quality logs, testing documentation, and electronic data entries.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner to support traceability and audit requirements.
- Process Verification
- Monitor production parameters and verify equipment settings, calibrations, and operational controls.
- Ensure compliance with established quality procedures and preventive control programs.
- Non-Conformance Management
- Identify quality deviations and assist with investigations and corrective actions.
- Support product holds, evaluations, and disposition activities when necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Follow all applicable food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, maintenance, sanitation, and management teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and food safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality assurance, quality control, or food production environment.
- Knowledge of quality systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety principles, and basic laboratory procedures.
- Experience using testing and measuring equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Work performed in both production and laboratory environments.
- Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and third-party audit standards.
- Experience supporting food safety or quality programs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
