The expected base salary range for this job is $80,000 - $120,000 depending upon experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Company and ProjectTPZP, a Tutor Perini joint venture company, has been selected to execute the California High Speed Rail – Construction Package One (CP-1) and is seeking Quality Control Engineers for the project office in Fresno, CA.
Project OverviewCalifornia High-Speed Rail – CP1 is the first major construction contract on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California’s Central Valley. The CP1 construction area spans 32 miles between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno.
Responsibilities- Inspect to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, testing procedures, etc.
- Inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on bridge decks, beams, box culverts, columns, footings, utilities and roadways.
- Develop understanding of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, and codes required to perform assigned work.
- Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work.
- Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and related documents; assure correctness of all documents.
- Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, e.g., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment.
- Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
- Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
- Assist in reviewing purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- 5 or more years of experience in support of heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management in support of large public works projects.
- Experience with U.S. construction standards and codes.
- Understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance (preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred).
- ACI or other industry-related certifications (preferred).
