Position: Sample Control Technician 2

Kelly is hiring a Sample Control Technician 2 for one of our clients in Fresno, CA

  • $18/hr
  • Temp to hire
  • Shift is day shift Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday to be determined after training there will be OT work and possible work on holidays

The Sample Registration Technician is responsible for accurately registering incoming samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role involves ensuring precise data entry, maintaining sample integrity, and coordinating with various departments to facilitate timely sample processing. The technician will generate sample status reports, assist in troubleshooting registration issues, and uphold laboratory quality and safety standards.

  • Sample Registration: Accurately register incoming samples into the LIMS, ensuring all relevant data is correctly entered.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with various departments to ensure timely processing and tracking of samples.
  • Sample Integrity: Maintain proper handling and storage of samples throughout the registration and testing workflows.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on sample status, processing times, and any discrepancies encountered.
  • Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to sample registration and data entry.
  • Protocol & Safety Compliance: Follow established laboratory protocols to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all registered samples and related documentation.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and internal departments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of registration processes.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements Education & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific (e.g., Biology, Chemistry), business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting—preferably with sample registration or data entry responsibilities is required.

    Knowledge or experience with Media Prep, pH measurement, and Inventory management.

  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot registration issues.
  • Working Hours: Shift hours vary.
  • Flexibility

    Required:

    Ability to participate in meetings across various time zones outside core working hours, as well as occasionally work extended hours to meet client deliverable timelines.
  • Environment: Typical laboratory work environment maintained at an average temperature of 20°C.
