Multi-Purpose Clerk – Grocery (1177 Fresno St., Fresno, CA 93706)

Responsible for promoting sales, answering questions, responding to requests for products, accurately placing special orders, and maintaining a clean and safe work area within any assigned department (Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial).

• Center Store/Front End: Operate checkout stand, memorize PLU codes, receive, unload, stock and rotate merchandise, maintain POS and inventory processes.
• Produce: Receive, inspect, log produce; trim, wash, wrap as per policy; stock, rotate, merchandise; maintain floral area and keep area clean.
• Meat/Seafood: Receive, inspect, log meat/seafood; weigh, wrap, label for display; stock, rotate; provide customer service at seafood counter; take special orders; operate slicing and wrapping equipment; keep area clean.
• Bakery/Deli: Receive, inspect, log baked goods and deli products; prepare, weigh, package, label; stock, rotate; take special orders for cakes and trays; operate ovens, proofers, slicers, mixers; keep area clean.
• Janitorial: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across store; sweep and mop floors and refrigerated areas; clean restrooms, break rooms, office areas, shelving; clean front-of-store and parking lot; operate janitorial equipment like scrubbers and buffers.
• Duties common to all departments:
  Sweep and mop sales floors, front end, back rooms, refrigerated areas; operate forklift (if authorized and certified); operate baler (if authorized); perform other duties as assigned.

$17.15 - $26.20 per hour.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self‑motivation.
• Proactive, initiative, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to work.

High School Diploma or G.E.D. (or additional relevant job experience).

Six months of related retail experience.

Must be available to work varied retail hours.

Requires frequent standing and other physical movements; lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
