Senior Oncology Specialist

Amgen is seeking an experienced sales professional to serve as the primary customer contact for oncology products. The role involves delivering clinical knowledge of our oncology portfolio to medical professionals, managing territory sales, and supporting patients through treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, deliver branded sales messages, and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensure product access, resolve reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
  • Craft effective marketing strategies to drive sales.
  • Analyze business effectiveness, conduct territory analysis, and develop plans with the District Manager.
  • Maintain passion for our products throughout the sales cycle, build the brand, and focus on patient impact.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and pursue continuous learning.
  • Leverage expertise in oncology, disease state awareness, industry changes, regulatory updates, and competitive landscape to deliver results.
Qualifications
  • Minimum education:

    High School/GED.
  • Required experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of sales and/or clinical experience in healthcare or a scientific field not related to sales; or
    • Associate degree plus 6 years of sales and/or clinical experience; or
    • High school diploma/GED plus 8 years of sales and/or clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology sales, marketing, or related life science fields.
  • Three or more years of sales/marketing experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, or medical devices.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and related specialties.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Adaptability and strong core competencies in planning, business knowledge, communication, results orientation, and relationship building.
