A Taste of What You'll DoAre you ready to combine technical expertise with relationship-building skills to help customers discover the possibilities of natural colors? As an Associate Account Manager with California Natural Color, you will support the growth of our natural colors business while developing your capabilities in technical sales, account management, and business development.
In this role, you will own a select group of customer accounts and build trusted relationships with key decision-makers. You will learn each customer's needs, present technical information and market insights, prepare quotes and sample requests, and help customers identify solutions that create value. By applying your growing knowledge of food ingredients, product applications, competitor activity, and market trends, you will contribute to a healthy sales pipeline and support opportunities from initial demand through the close of the sale.
You will collaborate with account managers, Marketing, Sales Coordination, distributors, and other cross-functional partners to analyze performance, develop forecasts, execute account priorities, and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will also use Salesforce to track progress, participate in business reviews, and represent the department in customer meetings and team-based activities.

What You'll Need- Master's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Processing with a solid understanding of product development and application; OR Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biochemistry plus 2 years of experience in technical ingredient sales, technical ingredient product development, or food science product development and application reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of technical ingredient sales or food or beverage product application or development.
- Technical understanding of food ingredient development and product application practices.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to travel by air and car to perform job duties up to 50% of the time.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
