We’re seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Weather Anchor to join our top-rated AM Live and Midday teams. This person will be responsible for producing and presenting accurate, engaging forecasts with a focus on how the weather impacts our viewers. The successful candidate will embrace new technology, excel at severe weather coverage for linear and digital platforms, and thrive in a team setting.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze weather information and identify important atmospheric events
- Skilled in using computer model data to produce accurate forecasts
- Confidence delivering weather, fire, and earthquake information live on the air, including during emergency situations
- Proficient in producing weather graphics
- Three years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Meteorology degree or certificate
- Knowledge of Dalet and weather software
Required
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree
Preferred Education:
- Degree in Meteorology or associated geoscience
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between SAG-AFTRA and KFSN-TV. The pay rate for this role in Fresno, California is $75,000 to $105,000 per year. The pay rate actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
