EV Charging Field Service Technician

Responsible for onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations, ensuring site safety, electrical system maintenance/repair, site field reporting, and compliance with contractual requirements. Works independently with little to no supervision and is required to operate in varied field conditions.

Hourly pay range: $25.00–$32.00 (DOE).

• Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions to equipment ranging from Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers.
• Conduct testing on equipment, including insulation (megger), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and locate/isolate ground faults.
• Work closely with the Planning and Scheduling team to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and work orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of site equipment, site field reporting, work order completion, and other required tasks.
• Ensure all issues at the site are documented in the work order system and addressed promptly.

• 2+ years of experience servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training.
• Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Technical knowledge of EV chargers, solar installations, or other power electronics is preferred but not required.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work orders.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.

• Requires work in all elements, depending on location and weather—heat, cold, rain, snow.
• Working around high voltages and currents.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat and safety glasses, is always required.
• Repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers.
• Conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards, completing JHA, Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO), and other safety documentation as per OSHA and site‑specific requirements.

Hourly pay range: $25.00–$32.00 (DOE).
