Electrical Maintenance Technician Description & Requirements

Electrical / Maintenance Technician:
Pay: $36.06 Hour

Location:

3366 E Muscat Ave, Fresno, CA 93725

Primary duties include providing safe and timely electrical and mechanical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution for multiple operating machines within a corrugated manufacturing environment. This is a multi-craft position and as such candidates must have general industrial maintenance experience with an emphasis on electrical components. Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.

General

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic and hydraulics
  • Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Able to read schematics and ladder logic
  • Electrical Knowledge
  • Welding proficiency is preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards and Regulations
  • Strong Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Must provide own tools and tool box
  • Prior Corrugated/Converting equipment experience preferred
  • Able to react and troubleshoot quickly in a fast paced environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Complete Preventive maintenance of scheduled machinery
  • Provide resolution to mechanical and electrical problems of machinery.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical equipment including but not limited to: VFDs, Servo Motors, pumps, pump & motor alignment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and all other electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Performs Lockout/Tagout per procedure for various operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to work weekends and other OT as required.
Requirements
  • 2–5 years of electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience (strong electrical focus preferred).
  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including drives, PLCs, VFDs, servos, relays, 3‑phase power, communication devices, and industrial control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems down to the component level.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical problem‑solving abilities.
  • Understanding of heavy rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, power transmission systems, and bearings.
  • Familiarity with sensors, limit switches, and general automation components.
  • Basic welding skills preferred but not required.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Provide knowledgeable feedback, written statements and SOP’s
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, or extended hours as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or military training preferred.
Benefits

The starting rate is $36.06 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
