Solar Field Technician, New Construction

Reliable execution and customer service are at the heart of our operations.
We are currently looking for a Field Technician for our New Homes Solar Team. The Field Technician visits new construction job sites within one week after solar installation by our crews to check installation quality and run commissioning protocols on solar PV systems and, where applicable, home battery storage systems. Tasks may also include troubleshooting to commission and operate systems as needed, performing customer service appointments with homeowners, and conducting inspections with building inspectors or utilities when required.
Field Technicians work closely with New Homes Superintendents and communicate daily for activity updates and schedule alignment.
- Track solar installations and schedule yourself to commission the system within one week of installation.
- Update all commissioning records with required documents and photos.
- Provide a weekly report on the number of attempted commissions and the number of successful commissions.
- Provide feedback to the Superintendent and crew leads on any issues found with installations.
- Communicate with the Superintendent daily with activity updates.
- Maintain the truck stock for the Field Technician vehicle and request warehouse support to keep stock at mid/max levels.
- Track and update installation of cell modems when they are not installed by the installation crew.
- Turn in the timecard to the Superintendent on time and with accurate input.
- Experience with residential rooftop solar installation.
- Organized and able to manage daily activities and travel routes.
- Experience troubleshooting solar products and installations.
- Ability to conduct quality audits of solar installations.
- Electrical and safety experience.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Time‑management skills to ensure all daily activities are met.
