Installation Technician I
This role focuses on installing truck-mounted equipment and components on dump trucks and loaders according to customer specifications. You will perform mechanical assembly, assist with hydraulic system installation, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards in a busy manufacturing and shop environment.
Responsibilities- Install truck-mounted equipment and components on dump trucks and loaders in accordance with customer specifications and work orders.
- Assist with the installation of hydraulic systems, including hoses, pumps, valves, and tanks.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools to build and fit parts accurately.
- Read and interpret work orders, basic blueprints, drawings, and hydraulic schematics to complete installations correctly.
- Support electrical installation and wiring as needed for truck-mounted equipment and related systems.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure proper operation, safety, and adherence to standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in the shop and follow all safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members in departments such as welding, fabrication, and final assembly to complete projects efficiently.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical and hydraulic issues during installation and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Handle tools, equipment, and materials responsibly to prevent damage and ensure reliable operation.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in hands-on installation and assembly work.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Experience with assembly, repair, installation, or fabrication work in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing and shop environment with various departments and equipment.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks with attention to detail.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, truck repair, or equipment maintenance roles.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, including reading hydraulic schematics and assisting with installation.
- Welding and fabrication experience in a shop or fabrication environment.
- Experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Installation Technician, Truck Equipment Installer, Hydraulic Technician, Diesel Mechanic or Helper, Truck Upfitter, Service Technician, Fabricator, Manufacturing Technician, Equipment Installer, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, or Assembly Technician.
- Experience with truck or trailer repair, production environments, or heavy equipment service.
- Familiarity with electrical installation, wiring, and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience working in fabrication shops, hydraulic mechanics, auto repair, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.

WorkEnvironment
This position is based in a large, well-organized shop environment in Fresno, CA, operating Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The facility includes a warehouse, machine operating room with equipment such as press brakes and lasers, welding area, dump truck and loader department, patcher department, a dedicated department for specialized accounts, final assembly area, and quality control department.
