Summary/Objective

The role of the Fabrication Technician Foreman is to ensure field personnel operate within the guidelines and rules established by the company. The foreman promotes, enforces, monitors, and assists in establishing any new or current policies for the Service Department. The foreman oversees inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations performed on all boilers, pumps, and other equipment at client sites. They coordinate manpower, process required paperwork, and work alongside the crew using tools as needed.

They are prepared to install equipment on job sites for RFM product lines such as Cleaver Brooks, Vapor Power, Camus, Industrial Combustion, and others.

Essential Functions
  • Attend trainings for boiler pressure vessel welders as scheduled and keep personnel informed of ongoing tasks and problems.
  • Contribute to high‑quality build‑outs and repairs of skid projects and boiler accessories.
  • Work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
  • Understand ASME Code repairs, their impact on estimating, inspections, welding procedures, and material control.
  • Attend all required bi‑monthly safety meetings and trainings.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate within a team atmosphere.
  • Be certified in the 6G welding position and eligible for company certification.
  • Open and inspect boilers with proper understanding of design and construction.
  • Clean fire and water sides, install new gaskets, and perform refractory repairs and replacement.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and apply necessary modifications.
  • Fit pipe to ASME, state, and local codes.
  • Evaluate basic boiler‑room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information, and help solve problems.
  • Detail‑oriented completion of work orders, forms, summaries, and checklists as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work occurs indoors and outdoors, potentially under inclement weather. Conditions include hot steam, liquids, tight spaces, and other hazards.

Physical Demands

Regular tasks include talking, hearing, listening, bending, squatting, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, crawling, climbing stairs, and operating equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role often requires long hours, weekends, and travel.

Required Education And Experience
  • 5–10 years’ experience in the industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of technical school, community college, or trade school.
  • Computer knowledge is a plus.
  • Basic mathematics, algebra, and formula knowledge are required.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • 5–10 years’ experience in the industry.
  • High school diploma required.
  • AA/BA/BS/MA degree in a related field or equivalent experience is desired.
  • Experience with low‑emission burners and related equipment is a plus.
