Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Summary

Provides comprehensive case management services to domestic minor and adult victims of all types of human trafficking. In the absence of the Central Valley Against Human Trafficking (CVAHT) Manager, acts as program liaison between collaborative sub-awardees, community partners, and other case managers/advocates. Provides CVAHT Manager with summary of meetings and related issues.

Assist in the fulfillment of the Agency’s vision, “A strong Fresno County where people have resources to shape their future free from poverty.”

Duties And Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Responds within 24 hours to requests for case management or advocacy services for victims of human trafficking as referred by outside referral and other Fresno EOC programs; particularly Sanctuary and Support Services’ programs.

Implements a thorough assessment with client, including a goal-oriented care plan.

Will be on an on-call rotation for the CVAHT 24-hour crisis line to offer immediate assistance.

Provides case management duties to up to clients identified as victims of human trafficking.

Assists in the development of new intervention projects for minor victims of trafficking.

Advocates for clients and survivors of human trafficking and dependents.

Updates case management and client files weekly.

Collects, organizes, and enters data into appropriate formats for Program Manager and funders’ databases.

Provides public outreach information at various venues, health fairs, and informational events.

Responds to and provides professional trainings on the topic of human trafficking to outside agencies.

Assists in the development and implementation of the bi-annual 40-hour anti-human trafficking caseworker training.

Takes notes of meetings for the development of formal minutes of said meetings.

Continually develops self-knowledge of issues of human trafficking, laws, policies, and case histories.

Participates in training opportunities made available to them.

Provides administrative support to CVAHT Manager.

Adheres to all grant requirements.

Adheres to the confidentiality policy regarding clients.

Attends staff meetings and trainings, including meetings of the Central Valley Freedom Coalition and initial 40-hour Caseworker Training.

Travels for agency business using personal/agency vehicle.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Victimology, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development or related field. Work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years related work experience providing case management or related supportive services to youth or young adults. Prior experience working with vulnerable populations is highly desirable. Lived experience such as chronic homelessness, intersection with child welfare, survivor of a trafficking or other crime, etc. may be considered for related work experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the field of anti-trafficking.
Other Qualifications
  • Excellent public speaking skills and ability to provide education and training in formal and informal settings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write reports and resolve conflict.
  • Bilingual English/Secondary Language preferred based on the needs of the clients and the program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
  • Ability to maintain clear, sufficient case notes on all clients.
  • Familiarity with the broad range of social, academic, supportive, and employment services available to participants and able to refer participants to the appropriate services.
