ACTA - Expanded Access to Arts and Culture (EAAC) Grant Program

The Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) is accepting applications for Fresno-based, mission-aligned cultural projects seeking fiscal sponsorship.

ACTA promotes and supports ways for cultural traditions to thrive now and into the future.

The Expanded Access to Arts and Culture (EAAC) Grant Program is funded through Measure P, a voter-approved initiative that invests in arts and cultural opportunities for Fresno residents. The program supports projects that increase access to arts, culture, and creative experiences throughout the City of Fresno.

For this cycle, individual artists and unincorporated groups may apply for funding to develop and present projects that engage the public, strengthen Fresno’s cultural landscape, and reflect the goals of the City’s Cultural Arts Plan. Projects should demonstrate a clear public benefit and be accessible to Fresno residents. Projects may request between $1,000 and $75,000 in funding.

ACTA serves as a fiscal sponsor for eligible applicants who do not have nonprofit status or who would benefit from administrative support. As a fiscal sponsor, ACTA receives and administers grant funds on behalf of approved projects and provides guidance on grant compliance and reimbursement procedures.

ACTA is looking for traditional artists, folk artists, and culture bearers to be our fiscal sponsees. Folk and traditional arts are part of a community’s daily life and culture. They come from groups of people who share a common background, such as language, history, beliefs, work, or place. These art forms are learned and passed on from one generation to the next through families, elders, and community members.

By learning together, practicing, and sharing skills, these traditions stay active, grow over time, and continue to support strong communities.

Projects can include any kind of traditional art, such as:

• Dance
• Music
• Food traditions
• Crafts and material arts
• Storytelling and oral traditions
• And other cultural practices
