Job Title
Provides a variety of program support functions for corps member development activities and tracking corps member progress. Assists in the fulfillment of the Organization's vision and mission.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsDevelops, administers, coordinates and documents corps member development through the Individual Service Strategies process for corps members. This includes but is not limited to: academic progress and assessment, corps field service and skill development support and tracking, college and career development, life skills and leadership development, supportive services referrals, support follow-up services and tracking/reporting.
Assesses the need for corps member support services and helps corps members access needed services. Assists corps members in overcoming personal barriers to education and employment such as housing, childcare, substance abuse, and transportation.
Develops, researches, and obtains a variety of resources to promote corps member development, employability and academic advancement.
Assures timely tracking and support of corps member attendance and progress toward academic and field service goals occurs.
Meets and provides counseling services to corps members on a regularly scheduled basis and as needed to evaluate progress and maintain concise, accurate case notes. Inputs case notes and other required information into database systems on a regular basis.
Provides corps member data, documents and completes reports to agency, funding sources, etc., as required.
Assists with the coordination and successful completion of corps member development. Implements disciplinary and restorative measures with corps members as needed within the guidelines of the Corps member Handbook.
Collaborates with and maintains working relationships with local agencies such as Child Support Services, Fresno County Housing Authority, agency programs and other social service organizations regarding corps member issues and resource needs.
Advocates on behalf of corps members for the primary purpose of corps member self-sufficiency and life skill development.
Coordinates and manages community service, program specific and campus activities (Student/Corps member Council, school events/activities, special recognition events, etc.) linking corps members to the greater sense of community and to support corps member leadership development.
Provides job development services and related activities including assisting with: resume writing, preparing for interviews, referrals for employment and support of other corps and agency related job development resources and processes.
Provides workshops and other development activities through various corps processes including Mental Toughness Orientation, New Enrollment Orientations, program specific orientation and activities, etc.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with case managers, postsecondary staff, teachers and school staff, program staff, managers and administration and partner and community agencies.
Travels for work related business using personal/organization vehicle.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required. Additional relevant work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.
Experience:
Two (2) years full-time paid work experience in an organizational setting related to youth development, teaching, counseling, case management or youth service required. One (1) year experience working with young adults preferred.
