As an ambassador for Airgas, the Microbulk Driver is dedicated to ensuring that bulk liquid gases are safely and efficiently transported between pickup terminals and customers, both internal and external. This position safely loads, delivers, unloads, and returns using a company‑provided truck. The driver may also drive a straight truck to haul cylinders.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure Safety and Compliance
:
Dedicated to upholding company guidelines, with a strong focus on team safety, the consistent use of personal protective equipment, and actively contributing to a safe and healthy workplace by noting environmental hazards in harmony with DOT regulations.Vehicle Care and Inspection
:
Carefully reviews the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions before and after each shift, ensuring optimal operation and submitting necessary documentation immediately to report any concerns.Efficient Load and Distribution Management
:
Safely fills pressurized bulk liquid gas tankers and efficiently coordinates the daily loading, delivery, and unloading of cylinders and supplies assigned to the route.Digital Integration and Customer Care
:
Ensures timely deliveries to customer sites while utilizing Airgas digital tools to manage manifests and collect signatures, focusing on fostering courteous and collaborative relationships to build alignment.Active On‑Site Support
:
Assists with deliveries on customer property using a hand cart; we focus on the active, physical nature of this hands‑on position, while remaining supportive of any reasonable work request that aligns with your qualifications.
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements
- Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
- No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years
- No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
- Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment
- Be able to regularly lift 75 lbs. and move more than 125 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment
- Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
