Under general direction, Transit Supervisor I supervises the day-to-day assignments and performance of Bus Driver's on an assigned shift. Incumbents monitor route service, investigate, and resolve customer complaints and assign and supervise the daily assignments of buses, bus drivers and other assigned staff in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal statutes, rules, and regulations.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supervise daily bus and driver assignments.
- Monitor routes and restore service during delays.
- Investigate service issues, violations, and accidents.
- Resolve customer complaints and minor grievances.
- Prepare reports and operational documentation.
- Evaluate driver performance and recommend actions.
- Respond to field incidents requiring intervention.
- Identify service problems and suggest improvements.
- Perform training, ride-alongs, radio control, or paratransit oversight as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
