Position: Inventory Specialist I

As a member of the Warehouse Department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in Fresno, California, the Inventory Specialist I is responsible for adjusting and maintaining inventory accuracy for raw materials and finished goods. Specialists will also occasionally operate forklifts and retrieve & provide samples as requested. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Warehouse Operations.

Pay & Hours

Pay Range: $19.00 per hour

Hours:

  • 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • 3:30pm - 12:00am
  • 9:00pm - 5:30am

Schedule: 5 days per week

Must be willing to work OT and Weekends

Location: Fresno, CA

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Additional Information

This is an in-house temporary position aligned with a temp-to-hire process. While a permanent role may become available, conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and attendance. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days.

Core Responsibilities
  • Supports the mission, values, and vision of the company.
  • Maintains the best interest of Lyons Magnus first and foremost.
  • Collaborate with employees of Lyons Magnus in a positive and constructive manner to maintain a professional relationship. Demonstrates courtesy, discretion, friendliness, and diplomacy.
  • Works within a team environment to share information and help others as needed.
  • Understand the inbound and outbound flow of materials.
  • Physically count materials and balance out actuals and perpetuals.
  • Investigate and correct inventory introduction, shipping and receiving errors.
  • Learn RAF and restock processes.
  • Identify issues as well as opportunities for improvement related to inventory or processes.
  • Work to resolve inventory discrepancies by escalating communication to inventory control supervision for review.
  • Review weekly HRR with inventory supervision to assure items are moved from live inventory and placed in designated locations.
  • Register inbound cargo and monitor inbound/outbound trailer and seal inspection procedures.
  • Learn to operate forklift equipment to help with efficiency.
  • Retrieve and provide samples when requested.
  • Learn and understand conversion rates and date codes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, particularly when collaborating with customers and other departments within the company.
  • Partner with the company’s procurement, receiving and production departments to ensure that all items for work orders are accounted for and available.
  • Plan and complete assigned tasks within the deadlines.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Radio Frequency (RF) experience.
  • Strong mathematical ability.
  • Professional communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with computers, notebooks and maintain databases effectively.
  • Multi-tasking and strong attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 0-2 years relative work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn how to operate a forklift.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Strict adherence to the Lyons Magnus attendance policy.
