Join our Springbrook Nature Center team this Fall/Winter as a Seasonal Environmental Educator, where you’ll lead hands‑on adventures, creative nature programs, and unforgettable outdoor experiences for participants of all ages. From caring for fascinating reptiles and amphibians to guiding hikes, crafts, games, and environmental explorations, every day brings a new opportunity to connect people with nature.

Position dates:
August 8, 2026 through March 5, 2027.

Summer

Hours:

8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.

Winter

Hours:

8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m.

Typical schedule for this position is expected to be 40 hours per week. Schedule includes one weekend day per week.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop, conduct, and market environmental education curricula & programs including summer camp.
  • Develop, conduct, and market other environmental education programming.
  • Help to maintain exhibit animals including reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
  • Organize and lead a variety of small group activities as developed by the Springbrook staff. Activities may include hiking, nature explorations, crafts, games, canoeing, archery, stream and pond hikes, and art and drama activities.
  • Complete other assigned operational tasks before and after programs such as clean up and room preparation.
  • Provide fun and engaging activities outdoors.
  • Identify and respond to camper behavioral issues.
  • Communicate with parents regarding campers' experiences and daily activities.
  • Other Job Function:
  • Respond to inquiries by telephone, email and in person concerning a broad spectrum of natural resource information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in interpretive or summer camp programming with youth.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Natural Science, Environmental Education, or related field.
  • Ability to be imaginative and innovative in programming with youth.
  • Experience in care and programming of live animals.
