Within federal and state law, regulations, and district policy and practice, the teacher is responsible for the management of the instructional program for assigned students, for establishing and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning within the classroom and building, for assessing student progress, and for other duties as assigned by the building principal that are necessary to fulfill the basic function of the position and are consistent with the Master Agreement.
Responsibilities- Manage the instructional program for assigned students.
- Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning in the classroom and throughout the building.
- Assess student progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal consistent with the Master Agreement.
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minnesota Department of Education teaching license required for Special Education.
The physical demands of this position include talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and using hands to grasp and feel. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary RangeBA, Step 1 at $46,802/yr to PhD, Step 17 at $100,964/yr; placement will vary depending on education and experience.
