Within federal and state law and regulations and district policy and practice, this position is responsible for the management of the instructional program for assigned students. The teacher will establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning within the classroom and throughout the building, assess student progress, and perform other duties as assigned by the building principal consistent with the Master Agreement.
GeneralResponsibilities

- Establish and maintain a conducive learning atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the building.
- Assess student progress.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the building principal.
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minnesota Department of Education teaching license required for Special Education, or a valid MN teaching license in another field and willingness to obtain Out of Field Permission.
The physical demands include talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and using hands to grasp objects. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally more than 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary RangeBA, Step 1 at $51,599/yr to Ph.D., Step 17 at $111,313/yr. Placement varies based on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit’s page.
