Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Production Director and is responsible for all plant maintenance and capital activities at the Fridley site. This role leads the maintenance team in building a best‑in‑class culture of Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Success is achieved by ensuring every employee is focused on meeting customer requirements and continuously improving daily plant operations.
The position collaborates with peer managers and global/regional leaders to design, implement, and sustain systems that support world‑class manufacturing performance.
- Drive Safety as a core value and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in housekeeping and 5S across the facility.
- Provide hands‑on support and leadership in complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including PLCs, variable speed drives, and equipment programming.
- Develop, mentor, and coach maintenance personnel to build an engaged, high‑performing workforce.
- Create and implement a clear organizational vision for the Fridley maintenance function aligned with site and company strategy.
- Utilize robust management systems to track, evaluate, and improve maintenance performance and equipment availability.
- Establish and maintain standards of work to ensure high‑quality, on‑time production that meets customer needs.
- Build and manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) strategies within the CMMS, including work order creation, assignment, and scheduling.
- Control maintenance costs, manage budgets, and identify/prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead contractor scheduling, coordination, and onsite work.
- Project‑manage site capital projects and participate in larger capital initiatives led by Capital Project Managers.
- Drive process improvement activities through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and co‑development with peer groups.
- Ensure best practices and lessons learned are embedded into plant systems and processes.

- Mentor and support maintenance personnel to foster a high‑engagement, continuous‑improvement culture.

- Build and maintain a cohesive, high‑performing maintenance team.
- Supervise shift maintenance personnel
- Oversight of maintenance cost center budgets.
- Develop business cases for capital and budget increases.
- Active participation in annual capital planning processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in maintenance management, reliability, or capital project leadership.
- Proven experience leading significant change within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and advanced problem‑solving skills.
- Effective coach, communicator, collaborator, and conflict resolver.
- Fluent in English.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Process Safety Management experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (TQM, DMAIC, FMEA, Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
- Regular physical activity in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs, standing, and extended periods of sitting.
- Routinely lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally over 100 lbs with assistance.
- Work around high‑speed machinery, noise, heat, solvents, and chemicals.
- Occasional travel as needed.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $95,000 - $125,000.
