Process Engineer

Position Overview

The Process Engineer supports chemical manufacturing operations at H.B. Fuller’s Fridley site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production in a 24/7 environment. This role focuses on optimizing processes, analyzing performance data, and leading capital improvement projects. The position collaborates cross-functionally to enhance operational performance, reduce variability, and deliver consistent product quality.

• Design, monitor, and optimize chemical processes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Analyze process performance data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Lead capital projects (typically $50K+) from concept through startup and execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and R&D teams to drive process improvements.
• Apply structured problem‑solving methods (e.g., DMAIC, FMEA, root cause analysis).
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP) and support troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and process updates.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in process engineering within manufacturing or chemical environment.
• Proficiency with data analysis, process optimization, and continuous improvement tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• 5+ years of experience in chemical or manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing multiple capital projects ($50K–$500K range).
• Certification or applied experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Experience with batch chemical processing or polymerization reactions.

Pay: $95,000-$115,000. H.B. Fuller offers a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognition programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays. Eligibility may vary.
