Capabilities include i n-house tool shop and mold design for quick prototyping of injection, compression and transfer tools, compound development and material test lab with over 1000 existing formulations. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, programming, and implementation of custom automation solutions within a manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role that combines machine design, controls programming, robotics integration, and project leadership. Work on highly customized automation projects from concept through completion Gain exposure to machine design, controls engineering, robotics, and system integration Opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing efficiency and innovation Collaborative engineering environment with strong technical leadership Variety of projects with significant ownership and autonomy Stable, growing organization investing heavily in automation and technology Excellent opportunity for long-term technical and leadership growth Job Details What You'll Be Doing Mechanical Design Design custom automation equipment, machine retrofits, robotic work cells, and end-of-arm tooling using Solid Works Create detailed drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials Design for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, and performance Support machine builds, testing, and implementation Electrical Design & Controls Design electrical control systems, panels, wiring layouts, and component selections using SkyCAD Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Ensure designs meet industry safety standards and best practices Support system troubleshooting, validation, and startup activities PLC Programming & Robotics Program and troubleshoot PLCs utilizing:
Allen Bradley Studio 5000 RSLogix 500 / 5000 Mapware
7000 Develop and integrate robotic automation solutions Program and support Fanuc robots and automated manufacturing equipment Develop HMI interfaces using Factory Talk View Studio, Maple Systems EBPro, and Mapware 7000 Design automation systems utilizing state-machine logic architecture Project Leadership Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning Develop project plans and coordinate internal resources Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, technicians, and customers Support installation, startup, commissioning, training, and post-deployment troubleshooting Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within scope Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience working with automation equipment and systems

Experience with PLC programming and industrial controls Strong understanding of automation, machine design, robotics, or manufacturing systems Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Associate's Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field

Experience with Solid Works and SkyCAD Experience programming Fanuc robots
