- Receives, answers or refers telephone, electronic and in-person inquiries, complaints and questions.
- Receives and prepares police reports from public, using law enforcement experience to obtain necessary information for department personnel to provide an effective response.
- Responds to requests for information on programs, ordinances, statutes and policies.
- Responds to citizens' requests, concerns and complaints by providing information or connecting them with the appropriate City resource.
- Answers general questions about police- and public safety-related services and issues.
- Assists Public Safety staff with tasks related to the coordination and administration of business and operational licenses for liquor, tobacco, massage therapy, pawn shop, solicitor/peddler, dog licensing and charitable gambling.
- Assists with investigation-related cases and initial case follow-up.
- Collaborates with Public Safety staff to assist with organizing community events, educational, and Public Safety focused programming.
- Coordinates department requests including ride-along requests, fingerprinting members of the public or City staff, assisting with processing, maintaining and releasing property, and reviewing, researching and preparing reports.
- Participates in various department committees, City sponsored events and activities, and training.
- Verifies and calibrates portable breath testing devices.
- Enters data into an automated records management system.
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
- Associates/Technical Degree in law enforcement; and
