Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Travel Tags, a Taylor Company, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Fridley, MN facility. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial equipment and vehicles on occasion. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently while performing complex repairs and providing guidance to junior technicians.

Your Responsibilities- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify mechanical issues and malfunctions.
- Perform intricate repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other critical components with minimal supervision, including preventative maintenance of production equipment and facilities repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Mentor and train junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to identify training gaps and opportunities among the production team.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Coordinate with inventory personnel to manage parts procurement, ensuring availability of necessary components for repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
- Communicate with customers to explain repairs, provide estimates, and offer recommendations for vehicle maintenance.
- Occasional equipment setup and changeover required.
- Sunday - Wednesday 1:00 pm‑11:00 pm OR Monday - Friday 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm
- 5+ years of experience in machinery repair or automotive, with a proven track record of advanced diagnostic skills.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- May require standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components (up to 70 pounds).
- Exposure to noise, fumes, and various environmental conditions.
- Technical certification in automotive or mechanical fields preferred.
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $29 ‑ $34. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
