Quality Inspector

At Kurt Machining we provide precision CNC‑machining services. The Quality Inspector will ensure manufactured parts meet Kurt's quality standards and customer specifications by inspecting incoming materials, in‑process materials, and finished products.

First shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Starting pay range: $25.50 – $32.50 per hour, based on knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

• Provide receiving, in‑process, and final inspection for quality, appearance, and performance of complicated equipment, instruments, or products.
• Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
• Test finished products for dimensions, fit, surface finish, and appearance.
• Complete all required records and paperwork, including inspection reports, non‑conforming material tags, and return material notices.
• Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.
• Devise unusual measuring or gauging set‑ups as needed.
• Conduct periodic spot checks of parts in progress for adherence to specifications.

Additional duties may be assigned. Reliable attendance is required.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of related experience

• Associate’s Degree
• 4 years of related experience
• Metrosoft or PC DMIS experience

Strength Level Rating:
Light work. Work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Typical employee responsibilities include:
- Reach by extending hands and arms
- Handle objects by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands
- Pick, pinch, or otherwise work primarily with fingers
- Maintain near‑acuity vision at 20 inches or less
- Judge distances and spatial relationships (see objects three‑dimensionally)

Occasional tasks may include:
- Stoop by bending body downward and forward requiring full use of lower extremities and back muscles
- Crouch by bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
- Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch
- Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus
- Identify and distinguish colors
