Tool Maker Role with Growing Industry Leader
Salary: $38–$45 per hour
We have been a leading manufacturer of seals and rubber products since 1955. Capabilities include an in‑house tool shop and mold design for quick prototyping of injection, compression, and transfer tools, compound development and a material test lab with over 1,000 existing formulations.
Job Details What You'll Be Doing- Assemble, fit, and finish molds, dies, tools, gauges, and related tooling.
- Perform mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Work directly from 2D and 3D CAD drawings and engineering prints.
- Perform final fitting, refinement, and precision adjustments to tooling components.
- Maintain micron‑level tolerances and high‑quality workmanship standards.
- Operate manual machining equipment including Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, tool grinders, drill presses, and cut‑off saws.
- Operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Perform drilling, tapping, chamfering, deburring, and plate straightening.
- Support ongoing tool room and machine shop operations.
- Operate CMM equipment for dimensional verification.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, shadow graphs, and other instruments.
- Perform and document in‑process inspections to verify tooling meets engineering and quality specifications.
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent toolmaking experience.
- Experience working in a machine shop, mold shop, or precision manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of machining practices and precision measurement.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Mold building, mold repair, or mold maintenance experience.
- CNC machining experience.
- CMM experience.
- Familiarity with Mastercam.
- Experience working with tight‑tolerance precision components.
