A Day in the LifeAs a Principal Communications Generalist, you will collaborate with leadership, strategy, policy teams, and cross‑functional partners to develop and deliver communications that advance the vision and strategy of the Regulatory function. You will lead diverse, high‑impact projects and partner with stakeholders across Medtronic to ensure clear, consistent, compelling messaging.
Responsibilities- Lead communication execution, gathering necessary information across the matrix for content creation and adapting messages into visually engaging presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Develop and produce content strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance employee engagement and business impact.
- Plan, write, edit, and storyboard narratives that persuade, educate, and inspire audiences in regulatory advocacy, policy, and education contexts.
- Support senior leadership in communicating change initiatives, policy updates, and company information through newsletters, Yammer, email, and presentations.
- Create and maintain a well‑organized, visually engaging repository of presentations and resources for key stakeholders.
- Coordinate the cascade from CMRA communications strategy and governance activities to ensure departmental alignment, including handling sensitive communications.
- Implement internal strategic communication programs and content guided by Medtronic’s Mission and business strategy.
- Apply change‑management communication skills and understanding of organizational dynamics and social psychology.
- Oversee both internal and external communications planning, execution, and reputation management.
- Advance the company narrative to media and external audiences, conceptualizing and executing PR campaigns.
- Write, edit, and approve scripts, speeches, key documents, press releases, FAQs, and other communication vehicles.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of internal and external communications experience with a bachelor’s degree (or 5+ years with an advanced degree).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe or other creative software.
- Experience preparing PowerPoint presentations and communications for senior leadership.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with digital media.
- Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills; proven story‑teller.
- Ability to tailor messages for a variety of audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail and creative mindset.
- Highly proactive, independent, and motivated to perform at a high level with little supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working on fast‑paced, geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to multi‑task and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience in the healthcare industry (e.g., medical device, pharma, hospital, biotech).
- Experience with global regulatory requirements.
- Experience with medical device industry groups.

Benefits & CompensationSalary range (U.S. excluding Puerto Rico): $110,400 – $165,600 annually. Eligible for Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
