Member Specialist

Position Summary

Sam’s Club Member Service Associate responsible for providing excellent member service and maintaining the checkout area. The role includes handling purchases, returns, refunds, and exchanges; assisting with member issues; ensuring safety and security procedures are followed; and supporting the use of self‑service technology.

• Maintain checkout area and manage self‑service technology.
• Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges per company policies.
• Assist members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and transporting items.
• Maintain entrance and exit areas, verify membership, and identify member needs.
• Perform safety sweeps, report unsafe situations, and ensure compliance with security and safety policies.
• Support the training of new associate staff on processes and technology.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and other required paperwork.
• Execute emergency response procedures and report incidents.
• Collaborate with managers and teammates to improve processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail experience operating front‑end equipment such as a cash register.
• Familiarity with mobile retail applications.
• Strong customer‑service skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Experience in a retail environment.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
