Position SummaryThe Senior Mechanic / Lead Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive hands‑on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage complex repairs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and performance-related issues
- Perform advanced repairs and preventative maintenance
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify needed repairs
- Complete engine, transmission, suspension, brake, steering, and electrical work
- Use diagnostic tools and software effectively
- Maintain accurate repair records and communicate findings clearly
- Ensure all work is completed safely and according to industry standards
- Mentor junior technicians when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Test drive and verify repairs when necessary
- 6+ years of professional mechanic experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with gas and diesel engines preferred
- ASE certifications are a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks, sewer/drain equipment, or commercial vehicles is a plus
- Advanced mechanical knowledge
- Strong electrical diagnostics experience
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions
