Position Description
The Laborer Ipositionsupportsundergroundtelecommunicationsconstructionoperationsbyassistingwithsitepreparation ,restoration,andday-to-dayfieldtasks.
Individualsinthisroleareabletosafelysetupandtakedownjobsites,operatesmalltoolsandequipmentundersupervision,andperformessentialdutiestosupportdrillandrestorationcrews.
Thispositionservesasthenextstepaftercompletingthe
- Prepare,setup,andteardownjobsitesusingpropersignage,cones,andbarricades.
- Load,unload,anddistributetools,materials,andequipmentaccordingtoworkplans.
- Assistwithpotholing,locatingutilities,conduitplacement,andbackfilloperations.
- Operatesmallhandandpowertoolssafelyandeffectivelyunderdirection.
- Supportdrillandrestorationcrewswithday-to-dayproductionneeds.
- Maintainorganizedworkareas,vehicles,and equipment.
- Followall Universal Servicessafetystandards ,reportinganyhazardsimmediately.
- Participateindailytailgatemeetingsandongoingjob-specific training.
- Valid driver’slicenseandcurrentDOTmedicalcard.
- Successfulcompletionofthe Laborer–InTrainingprogramorequivalentexperience.
- Abilitytoperformphysicallaboroutdoorsinallweatherconditions.
- Basicunderstandingofsafeworkpracticesandjobsiteoperations.
- Previousexperienceinundergroundutility,construction,ortelecommunicationswork.
- Familiaritywithsmallconstructiontools,equipment,andtrafficcontrolsetup.
- Strongcommunicationandteamworkskills.
- Abilitytoliftandcarry
50–60lbs.regularly. - Frequent standing,bending,shoveling,andrepetitivephysicalmovements.
- Mustmaintainawarenessaroundheavyequipmentandlivetrafficenvironments.
- Demonstrates reliability,attentiontodetail,andwillingnesstolearn.
- Thispositionworksoutdoorsyear-roundinallweatherconditionsincludingheat,cold,rain,andsnow.
- Workmayinvolveexposuretomud,uneven surfaces,traffic,andutilityhazards.
- ProperPPEandadherencetosafetyprotocolsarerequiredatalltimes.
- Thisisafull-time,non-exempt position.
- Typicalscheduleis Monday–Friday,withflexibilityrequiredforevenings,weekends,orovertimeasdictatedbyprojectdemandsorweather.
- Regularandpunctualattendanceisanessentialfunctionoftherole.
- Complete all Universal Servicessafetyandoperationaltrainingmoduleswithinthefirst
90days. - Demonstrateproficiencyinsitesetup,tooluse,andsafeoperationpractices.
- Activelyseekmentorshipfromexperiencedcrewmembersandforemen.
- Participateincontinuousskill-building,equipment training,andsafetyrefreshers.
- Demonstratereadinessforadvancementto
LaborerIIthroughperformancereviewsandsupervisorfeedback.
- Complete all Universal Servicessafetyandoperationaltrainingmoduleswithinthefirst
180days. - Demonstrateproficiencyinsitesetup,tooluse,andsafeoperationpractices.
- Activelyseekmentorshipfromexperiencedcrewmembersandforemen.
- Participateincontinuousskill-building,equipment training,andsafetyrefreshers.
- Demonstratereadinessforadvancementto
