A Day in the LifeAs a Software Engineer II
, you will design, develop, and verify embedded software for implantable medical devices that advance Pelvic Health Therapies. Working in a highly regulated medical device environment, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle - from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, verification, and product release. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Systems, Electrical Engineering, Security, and Quality, to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative therapy solutions while ensuring compliance with medical device regulations and quality standards.
- Own firmware features for implantable neurostimulator systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) and proprietary communication protocols.
- Develop embedded software utilizing various BLE stacks.
- Contribute to firmware requirements, architecture, traceability, scope management, software hazard analysis, and design documentation.
- Design, implement, debug, and optimize embedded firmware while executing unit and integration testing.
- Develop test designs, test scripts, and formal technical reports to support verification activities.
- Perform regression testing, failure analysis, and debugging of embedded software and automated test scripts.
- Analyze test data, document findings, and recommend design or process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall system design and product development.
- Participate in design reviews, development milestones, and product release activities.
- Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, software development processes, and quality system requirements while driving continuous improvement.
