Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Volvo Technician to join our team. The Volvo Tech will play a crucial role in our service department, performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. We are looking for technicians of all levels to service our client's cars. Technicians with experience at Volvo or other European car dealers and luxury automotive shops are highly desired.

Expected salary range is $60,000-$120,000 based on hours flagged.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements, according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to identify and address any additional maintenance or repair needs.
  • Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines and procedures for warranty and recall repairs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed on vehicles, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain recommended repairs and provide estimates for labor and parts costs.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair tasks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Examine vehicles for both safety and maintenance items.
  • Notify other service personnel if work cannot be completed as promised.
  • Keep up to date on manufacturer training and certifications.
  • Understand and follow all state and federal regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology preferred.
  • Minimum of [insert number] years of experience as an automotive technician, with a strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
  • Certification from National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) preferred.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software, including scan tools and manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Able to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to work some Saturdays.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
